The Last Savage


We are sitting in the open twilight of a Santa Fe evening at the opera. The seats are filling and the orchestra is warming up, a lyrical cacophony of trills and beats. In the horizon, lightening strikes and four seats down from mine a quartet of teens anxiously await the first act.

Sung in English, though written and compsed by an Italian, The Last Savage is about a young woman who aims to collect the last uncivilized creature known to man….

Oh, the lights are dimming. Time to go……
